POTENSI NANOCURCUMIN SEBAGAI TERAPI PADA ORAL SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA (TINJAUAN LITERATUR)

Latar Belakang: Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OSCC) adalah bentuk kanker mulut yang paling umum, sangat invasif, dan merupakan salah satu dari 10 kanker paling umum di seluruh dunia. Curcumin merupakan tanaman herba yang mulai banyak digunakan sebagai bahan antikanker, namun dinilai memiliki bioavailabilitas yang buruk. Dewasa ini banyak dikembangkan bahan berukuran nano guna memperbaiki kekurangan yang dimiliki curcumin. Modifikasi curcumin dengan ukuran nano diharapkan dapat meningkatkan efektivitasnya sebagai terapi pada oral squamous cell carcinoma. Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui potensi nanocurcumin sebagai terapi pada oral squamous cell carcinoma. Metode: Literatur yang digunakan dalam penulisan diperoleh dari database elektronik antara lain Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, dan Proquest dengan menggunakan metode penelusuran informasi boolean search. Kata kunci yang digunakan untuk penelusuran artikel antara lain, “Curcumin”, “Nano”, “Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma”, dan “Dentistry”. Jurnal yang akan direview diseleksi dengan metode PRISMA berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Hasil: Dari 25 jurnal yang ditemukan, didapatkan bahwa nanocurcumin mampu menghambat proliferasi, migrasi, invasi, metastasis, dan induksi apoptosis melalui berbagai jalur pensinyalan pada oral squamous cell carcinoma cell lines. Kesimpulan: Nanocurcumin berpotensi sebagai terapi pada oral squamous cell carcinoma.
